Haussmann's Elephant Chang end table is hand-carved in Thailand from solid monkeypod wood. A carved elephant carries a round top with a carved border, and the grain of every piece is individual. Choose an 11-inch round top at 20 inches high, a 14-inch round top at 22 inches high, or a 15-inch round top at 20 inches high, all in a walnut finish. A sculptural elephant side table with its own character
Use this sculptural wood accent table beside a sofa or chair, as a bedside table, in an entry, or as a display pedestal for a lamp, bowl, or plant. Each piece is carved from solid wood rather than assembled from laminated boards, and arrives fully assembled.
Hand-carved monkeypod wood
The material is solid monkeypod (Samanea saman), also called rain tree and marketed in the US as acacia. Haussmann's artisans in Thailand kiln-dry and hand-carve the wood. Grain, knots, natural checks, and tool marks vary from piece to piece. Some areas may be smoothed or repaired with wood glue mixed with sawdust during finishing.
Walnut finish
Walnut describes the finish color, not a different wood species. Each table is monkeypod wood finished with OSMO Wood Wax Finish. The translucent finish lets the natural grain and underlying wood tones show through, so the shade of your table will vary from the photographs.

Yes. The Elephant Chang is hand-carved from solid monkeypod wood. It is not a veneer-covered table or a flat-pack kit. Wood glue mixed with sawdust may be used for repairs during finishing.

The carved elephant design and selected size will match your choice. The grain, knots, natural checks, tool marks, and finished shade vary, making every table individual.
Which size should I choose?

Item is basically perfect outside of some cracks on the back. No complaints outside that the item is awesome.
