Haussmann’s Live-Edge Bench is handcrafted in Thailand from solid monkeypod wood. Its natural slab edge and individual grain make every piece unique. The bench measures 48 inches long, approximately 17–20 inches wide along the live edge, and 18 inches high. Choose Walnut, Oak, or Agate Grey finish. Available finish choices are shown above.
A solid wood bench with its own character
Use this solid wood bench in an entryway, at the foot of a bed, or as extra seating. The natural live edge preserves the individual shape of the slab. The bench ships in knock-down form and requires assembly.
Hand-carved monkeypod wood
The material is solid monkeypod (Samanea saman), also called rain tree and marketed in the US as acacia. Haussmann's artisans in Thailand kiln-dry, rough-shape, and hand-carve the wood. Grain, knots, natural checks, mineral streaks, and chainsaw or chisel marks vary from piece to piece. Some areas may be smoothed or repaired with wood glue mixed with sawdust during finishing.
Three wood finishes
Walnut, Oak, and Agate Grey describe the finish colors, not different wood species. Each bench is monkeypod wood finished with OSMO Wood Wax Finish. The translucent finish lets the natural grain and underlying wood tones show through, so the shade of your bench will vary from the photographs.

The quality and transship were great product team damage on delivery. My contact at Etsy about it because I waited past two days to open it. They were not willing to talk to me about it.

The bench is beautiful and comfortable. Unfortunately, teak oil came off from the legs in the shower and left dark spots on my white grout. After a week of showers, the darkness lightened and you can barely see anything but I am nervous about putting it back in the shower.
