Haussmann's Natural Stump end tables are hand-carved in Thailand from solid monkeypod wood. Their natural stump and root forms and individual grain make every piece unique. Choose 14 x 18-inch Walnut, 15 x 20-inch Oak, 16 x 20-inch Oak, or a 19-inch top x 18-inch Walnut table. Available size and finish combinations are shown above.
A solid wood side table with its own character
Use this sculptural wood accent table beside a sofa or chair, as a bedside table, or as a display pedestal for a lamp, bowl, or plant. The natural stump and root forms bring organic texture to the room. Each piece is carved from one wood block rather than assembled from laminated boards, and arrives fully assembled.
Hand-carved monkeypod wood
The material is solid monkeypod (Samanea saman), also called rain tree and marketed in the US as acacia. Haussmann's artisans in Thailand kiln-dry, rough-shape, and hand-carve the wood. Grain, knots, natural checks, mineral streaks, and chainsaw or chisel marks vary from piece to piece. Some areas may be smoothed or repaired with wood glue mixed with sawdust during finishing.
Two wood finishes
Walnut and Oak describe the finish colors, not different wood species. Each table is monkeypod wood finished with OSMO Wood Wax Finish. The translucent finish lets the natural grain and underlying wood tones show through, so the shade of your table will vary from the photographs.

Common questions
Is this end table real solid wood?
Yes. The Natural Stump is hand-carved from a solid monkeypod wood block. It is not a veneer-covered table or a flat-pack kit. Wood glue mixed with sawdust may be used for repairs during finishing.
Will my table look exactly like the photographs?
The Natural Stump design and selected size and finish will match your choice. The grain, knots, natural checks, tool marks, and finished shade vary, making every table individual.
Which height should I choose?
Measure beside the sofa, chair, or bed where the table will sit. Choose a 14-inch diameter x 18-inch height in Walnut, 15-inch diameter x 20-inch height in Oak, 16-inch diameter x 20-inch height in Oak, or 19-inch top x 18-inch height in Walnut.
Are Walnut and Oak different woods?
No. Walnut and Oak are finish names on this listing. Every finish is applied to solid monkeypod wood.

Looks great - fast shipping - perfect side table
Nicely crafted. Great piece. Will buy again from shop.
Wonderful piece, good quality. Perfect addition to my bath area. Careful packaging.
This stool is just what I wanted and is lovely, the wood is beautiful and it came packaged with great care. Thank you!
Beautiful piece! It’s my second one I’ve ordered. Be aware it is wood and it will possibly crack, this piece did at the base. The seller states this in the description so don’t be surprised or upset if it happens.
The quality is outstanding!!!
I bought three in different styles. I really like the other two. This one was Not as pictured. Am returning for another.
This was a really nice piece and looks great. Many thanks.
Beautiful addition to our home. Item just as described.
beautiful table. i bought one years ago before the store closed and they went to etsy. this is my second one (same style different stain). both are what i expected. hand crafting has its tell tale signs so one must understand that. great product for the price.
Prompt and decent. A couple cracks in the wood but I think that is to be expected.
Great table! Arrived as expected and beautiful!
The product arrived with minor damage. The seller was very responsive and worked out a resolution for me quickly. This is my 2nd time purchasing from them, and I would definitely consider them for future needs.
Beautiful craftsmanship. Ordering process was easy. Delivered timely and thoughtfully. Very happy with my purchase!
The item was well-made and packaged with care. I don't know that you could realistically do better in terms of craftsmanship & materiality for the price.
Item as expected. Shipped and arrived quickly. Thanks.
First point is customer service is top notch. Response time is really good. All questions answered completely and without any confusion. My biggest challenge is with the difference between what is pictured and what I got. I realize this is a natural product and wood varies but still it is really difficult when trying to design with a specific look to get what you are expecting. So it was really about how it looks in the room. Also the top surface was not as finished as I would like. I can see course sand marks that makes this piece a bit more rustic than I had hoped. Overall the price is great, shop time was excellent and the packaging was flawless. My biggest caveat is that if you are particularly discriminating between careful as this is a piece that may or may not fit the bill. If you are flexible in your expectations it is a great value.
Great heavy duty piece, shipped quickly and was very well packaged
Beautiful stools/tables. Great experience. I appreciated knowing they might not be perfect, which is the case, but the variations add even more character.
Great living room side table!
Here goes. My reviews is muted by one thing. I table is a great shape and I like that it is carved out in the center so it is lighter weight. However, it feel hardly finished. Most of the exterior is rough to the touch and color is missing in about half of it. It is dry and I need to apply something. I am not sure if I need to sand first. You were kind enough to recommend pledge but online, most woodworkers caution against pledge and instead recommend products that you suggested that I do not bother with. It feels as though the finishing step was missed. Therefore I am reluctant to recommend it. I'm sorry and hate to give negative reviews but I am being honest. This is an unfinished piece.
Extremely well packaged. None better.
Great! X x x x x
